Actinidia Giraldi: features of actinidia

The fruit of actinidia Giraldi ripens in early September. The fruits are large, outwardly resemble shortened barrels, at the base of which deep funnels seem to be made. Their surface is bumpy, dirty-green in color. They taste sweet, with a strong pineapple-apple flavor.

Actinidia Giraldi is the most large-fruited actinidia of our flora, but, unfortunately, its berries are less fragrant than those of actinidia arguta, and they crumble before the beginning of leaf fall.

Actinidia berries can be consumed both fresh and dried. In addition, they can be used to make jam, jam, juice, wine, compote or jelly.
