Actinidia purpurea: the benefits of actinidia

The leaves of Actinidia purpurea are distinguished by an elongated elliptical shape; they are shiny, dark green above.

The fruits of Actinidia purpurea are quite large, oval, have a dark purple color and have a sweet taste with a weak marmalade aroma. They ripen late - in late September.

Unlike Actinidia colomicta, the harvest of Actinidia purpurea almost does not crumble. Therefore, the fruits are usually harvested as they ripen. (But if there is a threat of early autumn frosts, it is better to immediately remove the news crop and let it ripen already in room conditions.)

The collected berries of Actinidia purpurea can be consumed both fresh and processed: in jam, compote, jelly or jam.
