Brown rice (brown)
During processing, it preserves the nutritious bran shell – this determines the color of the grains. The shelf life of such rice is very limited due to the fact that an oil-containing shell remains on the surface of the grains. Meanwhile, brown rice is much healthier than white rice. In addition, it has a rich taste with nutty notes – that's why it is used mainly as an independent dish!
Brown rice is most often long-grain or medium-grain. The average cooking time for brown rice is 30 minutes. However, even with an increase in the specified time, this rice does not boil due to the sufficient rigidity of the grains.
