Capelin

Arctic fish of the salmon family, has a fat meat, and the degree of fatness depends on the time of year of the catch. For example, autumn capelin is twice as fat as spring capelin. It is believed that capelin contains a lot of mineral and fatty substances that prevent the development of osteoporosis. As a rule, capelin is smoked (also at home). Some, however, use capelin for cooking fish soup, snacks and delicious sandwiches. In addition, fried capelin is very popular. The capelin is served with flour, sour cream sauces and sauces based on fish broth. As a side dish, you can use baked and boiled potatoes, fresh vegetables, boiled green beans or red beans, as well as crumbly rice.
