Carrot oil (from carrot seeds)

The wonderful properties of carrot seed oil have been known since time immemorial. Already in Ancient Rome and Ancient Greece, people used it to cure various ailments. And medieval alchemists mixed it with lemon oil and bergamot oil, to then cure skin diseases and stomach diseases with the prepared mixture.

Today, essential carrot oil is obtained by steam distillation from mature seeds of wild carrots, previously mashed in a roller machine. The finished oil is colored in a pale yellow color and emits a pleasant, sweet, slightly spicy aroma. Most often, it is used for antiseptic and tonic purposes – in medicine (primarily alternative), cosmetology and perfumery. In cooking, it is sometimes added to sauces and alcoholic beverages.
