Note No. 63: "On the storage of milk"

1. Milk is a perishable product. It should be stored in a cool place. 2. If there is no refrigerator, you can pour the milk into a glass jar and submerge the jar to the top in cold water, covering it with a clean cloth cloth so that the corners of the napkin are in the water. 3. You can store milk without a refrigerator for 2-3 days, if you boil it 2 times a day-in the morning and in the evening, and after boiling, leave the dishes with it open until cooling. 4. If the milk is sour, it is not recommended to use it until it turns into a thick curdled milk. 5. To keep the milk longer in the winter, before boiling it, you need to add a little sugar (1/2 tablespoon per 1 liter of milk), and in the summer - soda (on the tip of a knife). In any case, after boiling, the milk must be cooled in an open container. 6. Milk should be stored in earthenware, (preferably dark) glass or enameled dishes in a cold, dark place. It is contraindicated to store milk in plastic containers! 7. Milk will not sour for a long time if you put a few mint leaves in it. 8. Do not store milk near strongly smelling products.
