Red currant

Red currant is not just a beautiful and delicious berry, but also a very useful product. Back in the XVI century, it was grown for medicinal purposes and used to prevent many diseases. Now currants are used primarily in cooking and only then in folk medicine. In both cases, dry, undamaged berries are selected, which are consumed either fresh or frozen.

It is important to remember that freshly picked red currant berries are not subject to long-term storage. Even in the refrigerator, the currant is not more than 2 days! At the same time, it is perfectly preserved in the freezer.

In cooking, red and white currant berries can be added as a "sour component" to salads, meat and vegetable dishes.
