Medium-grain rice "venere" grows in Italy, on the fertile soils of the Po valley. This rice, named after the goddess of love and beauty – Venus, has maroon grains enriched with various minerals.
"Venere" is most often used in combination with other varieties of rice. In addition, it makes a great side dish for fish, shrimp, squid and shellfish, as well as a spectacular addition to dishes of green peas and fresh tomatoes.
The cooking time of "venere" is about 20 minutes.
