Sake (sake) (rice wine)
Sake (sake) – it is a wine made from rice and has the color of amber. It is drunk both chilled and warmed up.
The Chinese equivalent of Japanese sake – shao-xing-is an important condiment in Chinese national cuisine. In Thailand, they prefer the Japanese version of rice wine.
The history of sake is rooted in the deep past. Two thousand years ago in ancient Japan, sake was made in distilleries at the imperial court or at Shinto temples, and the drink itself was a mandatory attribute of various religious holidays. However, after Japanese village communities developed their own sake production in the 12th century, rice wine became an integral part of Japanese national culture.
Today, sake is becoming increasingly popular in America and France. It is often served with rolls, chips, cheese, nuts, and other light snacks.
