"Darkie" is a medium-ripe variety of table beet with excellent taste qualities. It is also valued for its excellent shelf life, high and stable yield and cold resistance.

Aligned, smooth, dark red root vegetables weighing 350-400 g have a rounded or flat-rounded shape. Their flesh is tender, juicy, without division into annular zones. The color of the pulp is dark maroon.

In cooking, such beets are used for canning and other processing methods.
