Wild strawberry is a perennial herbaceous plant with bright red, wonderfully smelling, sweet berries. Despite the fact that strawberry was used as a medicinal product in ancient times, descriptions of its healing properties are found in the literature since the XIII century, and it was cultivated throughout Europe even later, around the XV-XVI centuries.

Today, wild strawberries grow in Europe, Asia, North Africa, America and, of course, Russia. It can be found in sparse forests, on dry grassy slopes, in well-lit glades, hills and edges.



Wild strawberries are best eaten raw. However, many people like to eat them as a dessert with cream (or milk) and sugar.


In the kitchen, mousses, jams, juices and creams are prepared from ripe strawberries. In addition, delicious summer cakes and pastries are decorated with selected berries on top.
